Delhi High court restricted hearings for Corona fear

ADVISORY

In continuation of the Advisory issued by this Court on 13.03.2020, ‘ Hon’ble the Chief Justice and Hon’ble Judges of this Court have been further pleased to issue the following instructions to the Delhi District Courts and Delhi Judicial Academy:­-

I. The courts subordinate to this court would take up only bail matters and matters requiring urgent stay/injunction, till 31.03.2020 and the rest of the matters would be adjourned. Final argument matters (including time-bound matters) shall be postponed beyond 31.03.2020.

ii. The unit criteria applicable to subordinate courts would remain suspended from 16.03.2020 to 31.03.2020.

iii. No under-trial prisoner would be produced before the subordinate courts till 31.03.2020 and if the production of any such person is indispensable, the facility of video’ conferencing· be utilized. For the purposes of extension of remand in remaining matters, the District and Sessions Judge ‘(HQ) would depute the sufficient number of Duty MMs, in all the jails situated in Delhi or use the facility of video conferencing for the same.

iv. The Delhi Judicial Academy would suspend all ‘its Institutional Training programs till 31.03.2020. However, for DJS officers undergoing Induction Training, the court attachments would continue.
