CBIC Directed to Introduce 24×7 Customs Clearance at all the Customs Formations

Subejct: 24×7 clearnce-regarding.

Please refer to Instruction No. 02/2020-Customs dated 20.02.2020 vide which it was directed to introduce 24×7 Customs clearance at all the Customs formations to address any congestion or delay or surge on account of the prevailing conditions due to outbreak of COVID-19.

2. In this regard, as the situation of COVID-19 pandemic is still prevailing and trade continues to face challenges therefore as a measure of facilitation, CBIC has decided to extend the facility of 24×7 Customs clearance at all the Customs formations till 30th June 2020. However, designated Sea Ports/ Airports already under 24×7 operations shall continue to function even after 30th June 2020.

3. Chief Commissioners are therefore requested to make proper arrangements for the same and deploy a sufficient number of officers on a 24×7 basis at seaports/ Air Cargo Stations/ICDs/CFSs etc. falling in their jurisdiction. A record may also be maintained of the BEs/SBs filed beyond the normal office hours, station wise.

4. Suitable Public Notice/ Standing Order may be issued.
