Subject:- Amendment in the Export Policy of Personal Protection Equipment/ Masks
S.O.(E) In exercise of powers conferred by Section 3 of the Foreign Trade (Development & Regulations) Act, 1992 (No. 22 of 1992), as amended, read with Para1.02 and 2.01 of the Foreign Trade Policy, the Central Government hereby makes following amendment in the Notification No. 20 dated 21.07.2020 read with Notification No. 16 dated 29.06.2020 amending the Schedule 2 of the ITC (HS) Export Policy 2018 related to the export of Personal Protection Equipments/masks, incorporating earlier amendments, as under:

Following Personal Protection Equipments (PPEs) exported either as part of kits or as individual items- | ||
| 1. Medical Coveralls of all Classes/Categories (Except Surgical drapes, isolation aprons, surgical wraps, and X-ray gowns) | Prohibited | Medical Coveralls such as Surgical drapes, isolation aprons, surgical wraps, and X-ray gowns are freely exportable. | ||
| 2. Medical Coveralls for COVID-19 | Restricted | Monthly export Quota of 50 Lakh units of Medical Coveralls for COVID-19. | ||
| 3. Medical goggles | Restricted | Monthly export Quota of 20 Lakh units of Medical goggles | ||
| 4. All masks other than non-medical/ non-surgical masks (cotton, silk, wool, polyester, Naylon, Rayon, Viscose- Knitted, Woven or Blended) | Prohibited | Non-medical/ non-surgical masks (cotton, silk, wool, polyester, Naylon, Rayon, Viscose- Knitted, Woven, or Blended) are allowed freely for export. | ||

2. Effect of the Notification:
Notification No. 20 dated 21.07.2020 read with Notification No. 16 dated 29.06.2020 is amended to the extent that the export policy of 2/3 Ply Surgical Masks, Medical goggles is amended from “Prohibited” to “Restricted” category and export of Face Shields has been made “Free”.
A monthly export quota of 4 Crore units per month has been fixed for 2/3 Ply Surgical Masks and 20 Lakh units per month for Medical Goggles for issuing export licenses to eligible applicants as per the criteria to be separately issued in a Trade Notice.
